The heart of CountryHouse really shines through in our people. Our team members understand the difference between caring and giving care, and they’re committed to infusing our philosophy of treating people like family into everything they do.
Leticia Higares, LVN, is a Director of Operations, overseeing four communities. Prior to her current role, Leticia was the Executive Director at Astoria Senior Living and Memory Care in Oakdale, CA, an Agemark Senior Living community. Prior to joining the Agemark family, she served as a health and wellness director for six years. She is a licensed vocational nurse and spent a decade as an HR manager. She has a degree in Business Administration. Leticia and her husband, David, have four adult children, three dogs and make their home in Morada, CA. She was born and raised in the Bay Area.

Karen, the Senior Living Consultant for CountryHouse Granite Bay, brings over 25 years of dedicated experience in the senior industry, with a focus on Sales and Marketing in the Sacramento area for the past two decades. Holding a Bachelor of Science from The Pennsylvania State University in Human Development and Aging Studies, with a Psychology Minor and a Gerontology Minor, Karen’s educational background aligns seamlessly with her passion for serving seniors.

Guiding families and seniors is not just a profession for Karen; it’s her true calling and purpose. Making a positive impact and a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis is at the heart of her work. The idea of creating a familial atmosphere and witnessing the profound difference made in the lives of both residents and their families fuels her commitment.

Karen’s personal journey spans from Pennsylvania to Sacramento, with a detour to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, before returning to her California roots in 2003. Her family includes a 22-year-old son pursuing Software Engineering at Arizona State University, and alongside her, a wonderful man with a shared passion for music, movies, traveling, and making a positive impact on the world. A sweet and loving dog named Beamer adds joy to Karen’s daily life.

Beyond her professional and personal pursuits, Karen is a sports enthusiast, particularly in basketball and football. Additionally, her musical talents shine through, having played the clarinet and violin for many years. Karen’s commitment to continual self-improvement and being a positive force in the lives of others makes her an invaluable member of CountryHouse Granite Bay.
