Our Leaders

The heart of CountryHouse really shines through in our people. Our team members understand the difference between caring and giving care, and they’re committed to infusing our philosophy of treating people like family into everything they do.

Brandie Hesson-Bullard started as Executive Director of CountryHouse in Kearney in December 2021. She relocated to Nebraska, her home state, from Washington to join our team. Before joining CountryHouse, she served as Community Relations Director at a senior living community in Olympia, WA.

In addition to her work in senior living, Brandie has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, in general management, revenue management, catering management and sales.

Her first foray into senior living occurred when she was a child. Her mother was an activities director in senior living, and Brandie would spend time with the residents in her community.

Brandie’s family includes her adult son, Austen, his wife, Taylor, and AJ, who is four years old. In her spare time, Brandie enjoys being outside – fishing, hiking, hunting, gardening and archery are some of her favorite activities. She’s also a proud pup parent.

“I love working with seniors. It gives me such happiness and purpose. The CountryHouse community is incredible. We make a huge difference for residents and their families. I am so passionate about what we do!”

Amanda Feldman, RN, is our community’s Director of Nursing. In her role, she ensures the physical wellness of all who reside at CountryHouse.

She began her career in health care as a CNA at age 16. From there, she held various positions including as an outpatient infusion RN at Kearney Regional Medical Center and Platte Valley Medical Group. She earned her LPN, RN and BSN all from Kaplan University, and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Nursing.

Amanda was born and raised in Gibbon, NE and moved to Kearney in 2018. She and her husband, Josh, have four children: Ava, Alana, Max and Aero. The family enjoys spending time together and with extended family members in the area.

“I had always heard positive things about CountryHouse, people often spoke about what a wonderful community it was. I’m happy to say they were right – I’m honored to be part of such a wonderful community and company. Our culture is wonderful and we treat everyone like family.”

Megan Payton began as CountryHouse’s Life Enrichment Coach in October 2021. The role was a career shift, as she had previously spent much of her professional life working in child welfare. She’s also held many retail and service positions. Megan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Megan enjoys spending time and serving residents of CountryHouse. She loves the variety in her job and creating moments of joy and happiness for all.

Megan makes her home in Kearney with her two daughters, Elizabeth and Emilia, and her niece, Mya. They also have two pets: a cat, Mrs. Puff, and a hedgehog, Mr. Pricklepants. Together, the family enjoys music, singing, dancing and family game nights. The girls keep busy with music and dance lessons and Megan herself is skilled at playing the ukulele. They also love spending time outside and in the water where they hike, kayak and longboard.

“I could not have asked for a better job. CountryHouse truly doesn’t feel like work – it feels like a family. Although I had never worked with seniors prior to joining the CountryHouse team, I feel like I have truly found my calling! The residents here are so wonderful, and working with them fills my bucket.”
