Memory Care in Cumberland, MD
Joyful living for those with dementia.
Near historic downtown Cumberland, alongside the Potomac River and the Great Allegheny Passage, a wonderful homelike residence, CountryHouse, provides exceptional care for those with all types of dementia. For more than 20 years, we’ve stood as Cumberland’s only community that’s completely dedicated to providing memory care. At CountryHouse, up to 22 residents make our community their home away from home.
Our sister community, The Kensington, offers assisted living and is located just a few short steps away. We’re pleased to serve local seniors with services at both communities.
The heart of CountryHouse really shines through in our people. Our team members understand the difference between caring and giving care, and they’re committed to infusing our philosophy of treating people like family into everything they do.
Nicole has served as Executive Director of The Kensington since May 2018. She also leads CountryHouse Residence for Memory Care, a memory-care specific community also owned by Agemark Senior Living.
Nicole discovered her passion for senior care while working as a CountryHouse caregiver, and then left to earn a nursing degree. After gaining experience in long term care, Nicole returned to work as a Nurse at The Kensington for one year before taking the helm as Director for CountryHouse in 2014 and eventually rising to lead both communities. The Kensington and CountryHouse work closely together to provide exceptional care for residents of each community.
Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, Ted and her three daughters. She volunteers for Relay for Life and participates in fundraising efforts for local women’s shelters.

David is the Senior Living Consultant for both The Kensington and sister community, CountryHouse. In his role, David walks hand-in-hand with prospective residents for The Kensington as well as families considering CountryHouse, answering questions, providing guidance and ensuring our community is a perfect fit for their needs. His passion is serving seniors and helping make a difference in their lives.
Prior to serving as Senior Living Consultant, David worked 27 years in the newspaper industry. Most recently at the Mineral News & Tribune and the Garrett County Republican. When he made the decision to leave the newspaper industry, he decided to make an effort to find a job with purpose and be able to help others, with the hope that he would also be working with senior citizens. Having relatives of his own with healthcare issues really made him realize that all caregivers are not the same.
