Our Leaders

The heart of CountryHouse really shines through in our people. Our team members understand the difference between caring and giving care, and they’re committed to infusing our philosophy of treating people like family into everything they do.

Tanya is the Executive Director at CountryHouse in Council Bluffs, bringing years of experience and a deep passion for senior care. Her career in healthcare spans over 18 years, with leadership roles in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, and memory care.

Before joining Agemark, Tanya served as the Admissions Coordinator at Nebraska Skilled Nursing and Rehab for 4.5 years, followed by another 4.5 years as the Marketing and Admissions Director at Montclair Nursing and Rehab. She then spent 8.5 years at Amelia Place, where she held dual roles as Community Relations Manager and Executive Director. Tanya has also served as the Assistant Administrator and Executive Director at Keystone Villas Assisted and Independent Living.

Her educational background includes an Associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Iowa Western Community College, along with additional coursework in Business and Healthcare Administration at Buena Vista University.

Tanya’s passion for senior living is deeply personal, she grew up inspired by her grandparents, who were both Nursing Home Administrators. She believes that working with seniors, especially those with dementia, is a privilege, as their stories and wisdom enrich every day. Joining Agemark felt like the perfect fit because of its family-first approach and commitment to exceptional care.

For Tanya, every day at CountryHouse is an opportunity to create new memories, build meaningful connections, and make a difference in the lives of residents and their families. She is honored to lead a team that shares her dedication to serving seniors with compassion and respect.

Libby Hiers originally joined the CountryHouse team in August 2020, and was promoted to Senior Living Consultant in 2022. She works closely with prospective residents and families considering CountryHouse as their loved one’s next home.

Libby’s experience with dementia is personal as well as professional. After her own mother was diagnosed, Libby helped her father make decisions that were often overwhelming. She now helps families going through the same challenges with empathy and understanding.

Libby earned an Associate’s Degree from Iowa Western Community College, where she focused on Marketing and Journalism. Prior to CountryHouse, she worked as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Warren Distribution for eight years, was an Assistant Sales Director at another senior living community and was an Account Executive at IGT for a decade.

A Council Bluffs native, Libby and her husband, Bob, have been married since 2005. They’re proud pet parents of two rescue yorkies, Sunny and Ryleigh. She enjoys reading, fishing, and camping in her spare time.

Bethany has been with us since 2018, bringing a deep passion for senior care and community. Growing up in Pierre, South Dakota, she now shares her life with her husband, Garrett, and their two children, Michael (4 ½) and Ruthie (1 year). Bethany and Garrett even got married in CountryHouse’s courtyard, surrounded by family and residents.

Bethany’s senior living journey began in college, where she discovered a love for working with dementia residents. She started as a caregiver and med aide before stepping into her current role as Life Enrichment Coordinator, where she thrives on planning engaging activities that bring joy to residents.

In her free time, Bethany enjoys gardening, crafting, baking, and DIY projects with her family. She treasures the family atmosphere at CountryHouse and takes pride in helping residents stay active, happy, and connected.

Julia is the Director of Nursing at CountryHouse Council Bluffs, bringing over 15 years of experience across various healthcare settings, including Urology, Pain/Spine clinics, Family Physicians clinics, long-term care, home health, and hospice care. She earned her nursing degree from Iowa Western Community College.

With a lifelong passion for senior living, Julia began volunteering at a nursing home as a teenager and has worked in multiple roles within the healthcare field. One of her most memorable moments at CountryHouse was her first Thanksgiving family event, where she had the opportunity to connect with both residents and their families.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, biking, and playing sports. Her favorite vacation destination is Tybee Island, Georgia.

Jolene joined the CountryHouse Council Bluffs team as Culinary Service Manager in March 2024. With a deep passion for cooking, she is dedicated to providing delicious and nourishing meals for the residents. Seeing their happy faces when they enjoy the food she prepares is one of her greatest joys.

For Jolene, achieving a healthy work-life balance is essential. She loves that her role allows her to do what she is passionate about while also spending quality time with her family. Agemark has given her the flexibility to be with her children in the evenings and provide exceptional care for the residents during the day.

One of Jolene’s most memorable moments at CountryHouse was the Family Thanksgiving event, where she had the opportunity to see residents surrounded by their loved ones, sharing laughter and joy. Outside of work, Jolene is a devoted mom and enjoys spending her free time with her children.

Heather joined the CountryHouse Council Bluffs team as the HR Assistant in March 2021. She began her career in the senior living industry at the age of 19, working in a nursing home, and later transitioned to Bethany Heights Assisted Living. In 2021, Heather started at Agemark, where she continues to grow professionally. She is currently enrolled at California Southern University through Agemark to earn her bachelor’s degree in business.

With years of experience in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, Heather has a deep love for connecting with residents and truly values making a positive impact on their lives. Her favorite moments at work often revolve around the holidays, especially the Family Thanksgiving event, where the participation of family and staff creates a warm, joyful atmosphere. Seeing the smiles on residents’ faces during these times is a highlight for her.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her fiancé and two sons. In her free time, she loves reading, playing video games, and watching scary movies. If she could eat only one food for the rest of her life, it would be sushi.
