Our first Lincoln CountryHouse stands strong after 12 years of helping families care for their loved ones with memory loss. Located in a charming neighborhood but near shopping and restaurants, our cozy community is home to 32 residents at capacity. Our loving and caring staff is ready to take excellent care of your loved one. 

Two sister locations are located at 84th and Pine Lake and 70th and O in Lincoln.

Our Leaders

The heart of CountryHouse really shines through in our people. Our team members understand the difference between caring and giving care, and they’re committed to infusing our philosophy of treating people like family into everything they do.

Michelle Connot-Qualley, RN, has served as Executive Director at CountryHouse in Lincoln since February 2021. She offers more than 20 years of experience in assisted living, memory care and long-term care. Prior to her current role, she was a Director of Nursing at communities in Seward, Omaha and Lincoln. 

She is a Registered Nurse, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and holds her assisted living administrator license. 

Michelle holds a special interested in dementia care, and enjoys helping residents live their best lives despite their diagnosis. She also loves building strong relationships with residents and their families. 

Michelle and her husband, Kris, have four children and five granddaughters. 

Rachel brings a wealth of experience and academic achievement to her role as the HR Assistant. Previously serving as a Recruiter at Crete Carrier Corporation from 2021 to 2023, she showcased her talent for talent acquisition and strategic HR practices. Her academic journey reflects a commitment to both anthropology and business, culminating in a Master of Arts in Anthropology in 2021 and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in 2019. Currently pursuing a Master of Business in Human Resource Management, Rachel seamlessly combines her academic prowess with practical HR expertise.

Passionate about being an active part of a community, Rachel finds joy in her role as the HR Assistant. Her decision to work in an environment where she could be involved and contribute to a sense of community aligns perfectly with her values. She is dedicated to ensuring that residents feel at home, emphasizing collaboration and welcoming camaraderie among colleagues. For Rachel, the residents’ positive impact on her day underscores the fulfillment she derives from fostering a warm and supportive community environment.

In her role as the District Senior Living Consultant, Becky brings a wealth of experience amassed over a remarkable 25-year career in healthcare and senior care. Her expertise spans diverse domains, including Durable Medical and Respiratory Equipment, Home Health Care, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Independent, and Assisted Living. A graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Business Administration, Becky’s academic background complements her extensive practical knowledge.

Becky considers it a privilege to play a crucial role in the lives of residents and their families during significant transitional moments. Her passion lies in helping individuals navigate and transition through different levels of care, witnessing the success and peace they experience along the way—a truly gratifying aspect of her career.

Becky’s decision to join Agemark was deliberate, driven by the company’s sterling reputation for quality and a commitment to a resident-first mentality. Residing in Lincoln with her husband, Jeff, Becky’s family includes young adult sons and a delightful cat named Chuck, who provides more entertainment than expected. Beyond her professional endeavors, Becky and her family are avid Husker fans, relishing the excitement of attending Husker Football games in the fall. Additionally, they share a love for the vibrant atmosphere of Las Vegas. Becky’s multifaceted experiences and genuine passion for enriching the lives of residents make her an invaluable asset to the Agemark community and CountryHouse.

Deanna, the Life Enrichment Coordinator, brings a rich tapestry of experiences to her role. Her journey began as a Professional Singer and Actor from the 1980s to the 2000s, and she further demonstrated her passion for music as an Adjunct Professor of Piano at Doane College in Crete, NE, and Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. Prior to her current position, Deanna served as the Activities Director at The Knolls in Lincoln, NE.

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumna, Deanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies (1997) with a minor in Music. Her path to the senior living industry was deeply personal, as she returned to Lincoln to assist her older sister, who was facing early onset Alzheimer’s. Witnessing the challenges faced by dementia patients in care facilities ignited Deanna’s commitment to make a difference in their lives.

For Deanna, the best aspects of her role are the people she interacts with daily—both the dedicated staff and the residents she passionately serves. Happy hour on Thursdays stands out as a favorite time, where music brings joy to residents’ faces, and the entire community joins in the festivities, dancing and having a great time. The holidays hold a special place in Deanna’s heart, as she relishes the opportunity to weave together multiple traditions, creating cherished memories for residents, families, and team members alike.

Outside of her professional commitments, Deanna is an avid book lover, spending much of her free time immersed in the pages of great books. Her dedication to enriching the lives of those in her community, coupled with her creative approach, makes Deanna a valued and integral member of CountryHouse.

 

Timothy Sherwood, the Building Supervisor at CountryHouse I, brings an extensive background in public service to his current role. Having served as Captain at Lincoln Fire Rescue for an impressive 38 years, Timothy’s dedication to community safety has been a cornerstone of his career.

Armed with Associate Degrees in Fire Science from SCC Lincoln, Timothy’s expertise in fire safety and emergency response has been honed through years of hands-on experience. The transition to his role as Building Supervisor at CountryHouse I was a natural fit when a maintenance position became available.

Timothy’s commitment to maintaining a safe and well-functioning environment is evident in his approach to building management. His wealth of knowledge, garnered from nearly four decades in fire rescue, is a valuable asset in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and staff at CountryHouse I. His dedication to service, coupled with his skill set, makes Timothy an integral part of the CountryHouse community.

Donna Ashenfelter is the Dining Services Manager for CountryHouse. A Certified Dietary Manager since 1987, she brings incredible experience to her role at our community. 

Prior to CountryHouse, Donna worked in dining services for multiple senior living communities over a 34 year period. She has experience in all levels of care including assisted living, memory care, long-term care, rehab and skilled nursing. She also has vast managerial experience and in the past, managed teams of more than 45 individuals in cooking and serving roles.

Donna was always drawn to working with seniors and feels she has a lot to learn from them. She enjoys interacting with residents and finds great joy from putting a smile on their faces with a wonderful meal.
